A Christmas fable about a time not so long ago when "Jingle Bell Rock" was given a whole new meaning.

Now it all started several Thanksgivings ago. The radio station for which I was working at the time, one of your rock and roll inclined broadcasters, had taken it upon themselves to play the entirety of Arlo Guthrie’s 1972 masterpiece “Alice’s Restaurant” at high noon on Thanksgiving Day, seeing as how the events Arlo sung about in the aforementioned song took place over a Thanksgiving holiday. When I said, to my programming director, “How did this tradition begin?” he proceeded to show me twenty seven eight-by-ten color glossy programming logs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one. “I had 18 minutes to fill at high noon on Thanksgiving,” he said. And I started jumpin' up and down yelling, "Fill! Fill!" and he started jumpin' up and down with me and we was both jumping up and down yelling, "Fill! Fill!" So here it is. And if you are so inclined to follow the tradition, please play this on your home system or computer or phone or car stereo beginning at high noon on Thanksgiving day. And have a Happy Thanksgiving.

THE SEVEN DAYS OF HALLOWEEN
Here it is, the Halloween spook-tacular featuring a little e something from all of our big holidays: pigs, big business, messing with Mother Nature, military might and, of course, gluttony.
